About Gillian Linford
Hello and welcome to my website. I am Gillian Linford and I’m a solicitor. I have specialised for the past 18 years in the law about individuals and their personal and financial affairs. Often, this means my clients are older people, but people of all ages need to plan for the future. I am a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
I have worked in south east Dorset, mainly around Poole and Bournemouth, all this time and, after many years in a large local practice, I now offer a personalised one to one service in my own right. All clients are visited in their won homes as a matter of course and weekend or evening visits are arranged at no extra charge to fit in with clients’ preferences or to enable family members to be present if wished.
Outside the law, I am very involved in sailing and in the theatre. If you want to know what makes me tick, these links will help.
I have been a member of Parkstone Yacht Club (http://www.parkstoneyachtclub.com/) since I was 10 and grew up sailing and racing in Cadets and Fireflies. I have a classic 16 foot open boat now, one of the last remaining wooden Poole Dolphins. I often take on the duty of organising the day’s racing at the Club, as Principal Race Officer and I am a Regional Race Officer with the Royal Yachting Association. I also own a share in a 58′ narrowboat (http://www.nb-swallow.co.uk/) and there may well be times when I am phoning or emailing you from somewhere on the Cut.

I have been a member of Bournemouth Gilbert and Sullivan Operatic Society http://www.bournemouthgands.org.uk/ since 1993 and I took over as Honorary Treasurer in 1997. We put on a major production every October at the Lighthouse Theatre in Poole and a series of smaller shows every Spring. Last year I also joined Bournemouth Little Theatre Club http://www.bournemouthlittletheatre.co.uk/and have been enjoying acting and working backstage there.
As if all that wasn’t enough I also go into one of our local primary schools every Monday in term time and help a small group of children with extra reading. It’s only two hours, but I’m always glad I made the time to go.
If all this extra curicular activity is making you wonder whether I have time to give proper attention to your case, please be reassured I will only take on work I know I can do, well and to an acceptable timescale. I’m always happy to talk about whether I’m the right solicitor for you, and if so what we need to do and when.
